A trip to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is not complete until you’ve ridden the “Swing Shot”. This giant swing throws riders into the beutiful views of the Glenwood Canyon, over 1,300 feet above the Colorado River, before you’re brought back down to Earth.
Positioned high on the side of Glenwood Canyon, the swing reaches speeds of around 50 miles per hour, and gives passengers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Before you know it, you’re flung 112 degrees from the initial starting point.
The “waiting to launch” period
is intense for anyone. I had butterflies in my stomach like you wouldn’t believe, while at the same time wondering what Glenwood Canyon would look like from that high. Here we are waiting after being safely fastened into our seat.
Once we got going, I had to plug my right ear because Cat was screaming the entire ride! It was definitely a thrilling experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting the Glenwood Springs area.
